Hello

It is easy to feel overwhelmed when we are trying to navigate stress, transition, trauma, loss, or conflict. Through compassionate and curious inquiry into our hearts, minds, and souls we can better understand the path forward to the life we want and the person we want to be.

I am a warm, collaborative, and person-centered therapist who believes in the innate capacity of humans to heal, grow, and thrive. Wherever you are on your path I will join you and help guide you to connect to your authentic self, inner wisdom, strengths, and compassion.

I have experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, panic, relationship issues, trauma, life transitions, LGBTQ+ issues, grief and loss, perfectionism, people-pleasing, feelings of disconnection, chronic illness, and stress.

Our work together could involve enhancing your natural resilience, positive coping skills, interpersonal effectiveness and psychological flexibility.

My holistic and integrative approach draws from such modalities as mindful self-compassion, somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Cultural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in working with clients to meet their unique needs and goals.

I honor the unique and complex processes of my clients and in addition to talk therapy provide creative healing methods such as art making, writing, meditation, role play and movement to find what resonates with your soul.

In this emotionally demanding time, I offer a safe and supportive space where I will hold you and your experience with great care. ALL are welcome here.

Please call with any questions you may have and to see if we might be a good fit.

Background

After graduating with a BA in Fine Arts I spent the next 20 years of my life in New York and Los Angeles working in the fashion industry as a designer and director. Although I loved this creative work and the relationships, I built during this part of my journey, I eventually grew to feel that there was more personally meaningful work that I was meant to be doing.

I went back to school and earned my master’s in clinical psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara. The program emphasized authentic relationships and an understanding of diverse identities and perspectives.  At the core of this program was a strong emphasis on supporting positive individual and community change. This resonated with my heart being rooted in the value of relationships and community – that when we are attuned and caring for one another, we can grow and thrive individually and collectively.

While in school, I had the opportunity to work with Pacific Pride Foundation providing counseling to the LGBTQ+ community including individuals, families, and groups. I am trained in LGBTQ+ Affirming counseling and feel passionate about continuing to serve this population in my practice.

I can help.

Heal from the past.

I will help you explore how your past has shaped your present thoughts, feelings and behaviors. We will actively work with your past-oriented cognitions and emotions. This could involve inner-child work, exposure to traumatic memories, forgiveness and grieving.

Live in the present.

I will assist you in strengthening your skills to ground and center yourself, catch yourself from disengaging or dissociating and come back to the here and now, unhook from difficult emotions and cognitions, practice self-compassion, and access a flexible integrated sense of self

Chart the path to your future.

Together we will help you plan and prepare for the life you want. We will aim for growth and change in positive ways, applying the strengths, wisdom and insights you connect to along the way, to build a better future.
